Finding Chiropractic

As a collegiate volleyball and hockey player, it is no secret that I owe my health to chiropractic. Not only did it prevent injuries but allowed me to compete at the highest level. Without chiropractic care, there is no way that I could have performed to the best of my abilities.

I received my first chiropractic adjustment when I was 12 years old. After getting checked from behind during a hockey game, I experienced severe neck pain and I was unable to turn my head to the left. My medical doctor told me that it was a pinched nerve and that it would go away in a few days. After a couple of days, there was no improvement. So my Mom took me to see a chiropractor. After just one treatment the pain improved significantly, and I could turn my head again! After a couple more treatments, I was back on the ice again. This was my initial experience with chiropractic. As I continued on with hockey and other high school sports, a trip to the chiropractor became more routine. I often wonder where I would be, and what I would be doing today if I hadn’t been injured playing hockey that day.

My Chiropractic Education

After finishing up my Bachelor of Science at the University of Calgary, I decided to pursue a career as a chiropractor. I only applied to one chiropractic college after finishing my under-graduate studies. Every chiropractor I talked to highly recommended Palmer College of Chiropractic. Even the chiropractors that went to other schools recommended Palmer. I figured that if I wanted to become the best chiropractor I could be, I needed to learn from the best. So, 3 days after my wife Kara and I were married, we loaded up a U-Haul and moved south to Davenport, Iowa. And after arriving at the “Fountainhead of Chiropractic”, it was easy to see why all these chiropractors had recommended Palmer College.

I went to Palmer believing I could help people with neck and back pain. After learning the science, art and philosophy of chiropractic, I left Palmer knowing I could help people with so much more. After graduating from Palmer with the honor of summa cum laude, my wife and I decided to move back home to Airdrie to begin practicing. And what better place to raise a family than in Airdrie, where I grew up?

My Goals

It is my goal to educate everyone in our community about the benefits of proactive health care. The body exhibits an innate intelligence that when uninterrupted is able to heal and maintain the body at peak performance. We believe that with proper nutrition, exercise and natural chiropractic care our patients are healthier and will have increased quantity and quality of life.

Outside of the Office

Kara and I live in Airdrie with our 2 kids, Jack and Mallory. Our whole family receives regular chiropractic care. Our kids have received regular adjustments since the day they were born. Chiropractic care helps us to deal with the stresses of everyday life and running a business. When not in the office or with my family, I can often be found playing volleyball, hockey, baseball, golfing or curling.

As a parent, I know that there is nothing more important than the health of our family members. By removing the interference in the nervous system and allowing our body to heal itself, chiropractic plays a vital role in achieving and maintaining health. I have a genuine interest in the health of you and your family. There is no greater joy than knowing that you are on the road to improved health with each adjustment. Please don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email if you have any questions or concerns.
