Airdrie Acupuncturist Monique Ruchkall, R. Ac., TCMD, NCP

It was back in 1993 when I received care and treatment from alternative medicine practitioners that I realized that there was other help for me than just conventional medicine. They nursed me back to health and also planted the bug in me to pursue my goals in my life in the heath care field.

I have taken and obtained my diploma in natural nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural nutrition in 2002.I have attended the Wild Rose College and have taken western herbology along with other courses and its there that I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine and decided to change my education and pursue Acupuncture. Seeing the benefits from myself and my immediate family convinced me the reliability of this ancient practice (over 2000 years).

I have attained my diplomas in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Calgary in 2006. I completed my practicum at the ZheJiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China in 2006. I have been practicing ever since and I am appreciative having the knowledge that my education coincides with the education in China. Acupuncture is stringently regulated by Alberta Health and Wellness and I am a Registered Acupuncturist.

I use different techniques along with acupuncture including auricular medicine (using seeds), cupping, bloodletting, tui na (Chinese massage), electrical-stimulation, Gua Sha, herbal medicine, and infrared heat.

Acupuncture is recognised by the WHO to treat a variety of conditions and have been proven to be effective. The WHO recognises the treatment of pain (anywhere), headaches, migraines, insomnia, depression, smoking cessation, allergies, carpal tunnel syndrome, and digestion problems to name a few.

My husband and I now reside in Airdrie and glad to know that our 2 daughters are nearby and that they truly don’t fly away from the nest too far. I am looking forward to working with the team of professionals at Release Chiropractic & Wellness at their new location in Airdrie. Give acupuncture a try!
